My application is currently at Stage 4 on the online tracking service. How long will it take?

The police are mostly responsible for stage 4 of the Enhanced DBS check process. We have a negotiated Service Level Agreement (SLA) in place with the police. This allows them 60 consecutive days to receive, review and respond to applications. Sometimes the police send a check back to us if they need more details. When this happens, we will investigate and return the check to the police which resets the 60-day SLA. The police then have a further 60 consecutive days to carry out their work. This does not mean that they will necessarily need the full 60 days.
