What is a security code?

To sign in to your GOV.UK One Login, you will be sent a security code to enter to prove it's you. This security code will be sent to you via the mobile number you have provided or by authenticator app. You can choose your preferred method to receive the code when creating your GOV.UK One Login. The security code itself is a six-digit number that can only be used once and will expire after 15 minutes.
