What is a protected conviction?

A protected conviction will be filtered off a Standard and an Enhanced DBS check where the offence:

• is not a specified offence
• did not result in a custodial sentence
• was carried out more than 11 years ago, if the offender was an adult at the time (5.5 years if they were under 18)
