How do I make a barring referral?

The easiest way to submit a barring referral is online. The service is available Monday to Sunday, 8am to 11:30pm.

If you're unable to use the online service, you can send your referral via email:
Download the DBS referral form and email the completed form and evidence to contactus@dbs.gov.uk. Make sure the total email size does not exceed 25MB.

If you cannot access digital services, you can send your referral via post:
1. Download and complete the DBS referral form
2. Print the completed form and gather all necessary supporting evidence.
3. Send the completed form and documents to the address below, using a secure, trackable postage method to protect sensitive information:
