When does my update service expire?
If you have subscribed to the Update Service, you can log into your subscription through the Update Service by inputting your Update Service ID number (C followed by 10 numbers) and date of birth.
Update Service subscriptions last for one year. Your subscription starts on the date of issue printed on the certificate you use to register. If you add other certificates, the renewal date will not change. It will be the same date as on the certificate you first subscribed with.
You can renew your subscription through the update service, either:
- When you first register, by choosing automatic renewal; or
- Within 30 days of your current subscription ending.
You must renew your subscription before and not on the date of expiry.
If you do not renew your subscription before it ends, the subscription will expire. If you need to be on the update service, you will need to apply for a new DBS check and register again.
30 days before the subscription is due to expire we will send a reminder to the e-mail address you provided.
If your card details change
You need to make sure your payment details are up to date before the subscription ends. If they are not, the payment will not be taken, and the subscription will be cancelled. You cannot change your card details until the last 30 days of your subscription.
If your card details have changed, we recommend you set a reminder to ensure you update them. If the card details are not up to date and your payment fails, your subscription cannot be renewed.
