Manage consent

If you have created consent for a third party to view your online basic DBS result, you can manage the consent through your DBS online account which is linked to your DBS profile. If your accounts are not linked an icon 'DBS authorisation code' will be displayed in the top left-hand corner of your screen.

You can:
  • remove consent.
  • increase the time limits a third party can view your basic DBS check (when auto consent has been created) or submit barring referral case representation (dependant on the representation due date)
Your DBS online account contains minimal personal information about you, but holds your security details required for logging in. Whilst your DBS profile contains your personal information and details of all your DBS products and services.

For more information on consent, please refer to the ‘managing consent’ document, in the DBS online account guidance.
